That’s right Danville, it’s Direct Support Professional (DSP) Week again! It’s time to celebrate who we are and what we do! Supporting individuals is at the core of our character. It is the most important thing we do. We support those who we’re engaged to serve; however, we also support their families, friends, our colleagues, and the greater communities where we serve. Our service creates positive energy that not only fulfills our mission to help every individual served achieve their desired quality of life, but it also enlivens us personally knowing that we’re contributing to the well-being of others. This starts a chain reaction within those around us toward a service-oriented mindset. Support becomes a superpower that our DSPs and Caregivers unleash upon our communities every single day. They are, indeed, heroes and with this year’s DSP Week theme we celebrate them and all Danvillians for who you are… you are the selfless champions of humanity we’re calling the Support Squad!
